Having lived in the locality all her life, Daphne is perturbed at proposals to build warehouses on the beautiful countryside close to where she was born. She is happy to sell much of her life’s work to help fund STAUNCH, the campaign established to fight the developments.
Half of the proceeds from any sale will go to STAUNCH and, from the balance, Daphne will also make a donation to Titchmarsh History Association, an organization dedicated to researching and celebrating the village’s heritage.
Painting mainly in watercolour, Daphne has exquisitely captured different scenes in the areas along the valley of the Nene. Her collection ranges from landscapes to individual cottages and from old farm machinery to the plants and creatures that flourish in the local fields.
The collection of work comprises 59 paintings, 10 of which are framed. The price of the framed pictures is from £70 to £200 and the unframed ones from £10 to £75.
Paintings will on sale at Titchmarsh Church from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, 23rd October.
