WHAT’S ON
Getting out and about...
THRAPSTON COUNTRY DANCERS
Our small group is still active despite all the problems with Covid etc. We aim to provide a selection of dances old and new which everyone can manage. Nothing complicated. We are a very sociable and friendly group and beginners are very welcome. We meet at St James church hall on the first and third Wednesday monthly. Do come along for lighthearted exercise to music. Contact is George 01933 622827.

THRAPSTON PLAZA OPERA REHEARSALS
On Tuesday 20th September rehearsals begin for ‘Manon’ – the entertaining story of a young girl’s changing fortunes falling in love in Paris – which will be performed in February 2023.
Like all our operas, Massenet’s ‘Manon’ will be fully staged and sung in English with orchestral accompaniment.
This is an invitation to local singers to come and join us. Even if you’ve never sung in a group before and perhaps feel ‘inexperienced’, you will be most welcome to join the 20 strong chorus for which no audition is required.
You will have the thrill of performing alongside our trained principals, who take the solo dramatic rôles, and of becoming part of our friendly Company.
Weekly rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7.30-9.30pm in St James Church Hall with monthly Sunday afternoon rehearsals from mid November in the Plaza.
Whilst the opera is all but fully cast, there is still an opportunity for a Tenor to take a smaller Principal rôle.
