MagiKats has just had its second birthday. I hope that over the next year I can offer our unique tuition service to more children in the area. I intend to hire more mentors so I can offer more spaces for tuition.

Who works in the Oundle office?
I currently do most of the tutoring myself. My daughter is a Maths mentor and takes a group during the Monday sessions. My husband also helps out. I love that it is a family business.
There is no better reward that when you see a student have that light bulb moment
Dog, cat or iguana – who’s at home?
I have a three-year-old Romanian rescue dog and we occasionally foster dogs for ‘Noah’s Ark Romanian Rescue’.
Jaffa cake or Hobnob? Jaffa cake fan.
Something people do not know about you? I was in the army where I met my lovely husband.

Who makes you laugh? I love Sarah Millican and her down to earth humour.
If you have a day off, what do you do?
Snuggle up on the sofa and watch a good film
Who inspires you? My schoolteacher Mr Jim MacDonald. I had him on a pedestal throughout my childhood and early
adult life. I went back to my school as a teacher and Mr MacDonald was my manager. He helped and supported me to become the teacher I am today. We are still in contact, and I address him as Mr MacDonald to this day.
