Another year has come round again quickly. One reason is that we are very busy. The number of enquiries to Age UK Northamptonshire is currently high, indicating the increased need for our services. The challenges facing older people in Northamptonshire are not getting any easier.
I hope you are a regular Engage magazine reader and keep up to date on our news. I am sure that you will find this edition interesting, especially in relation to
the latest information on our services. We continue to develop and expand
our services. I would like to draw your attention to two services that are proving very popular; both have really expanded over the year. They are: Care Support at Home and Money Management (including Appointeeship). You will find articles on both of these valuable services. I would also like to highlight the expansion of our Day Care services in Northampton, where our new room at The William and Patricia Venton Centre is proving popular with clients and is much appreciated.
Age UK Northamptonshire is part of a wider network of Age UKs throughout the United Kingdom. This network is a group of independent and local charities who have agreed to work together in order to improve later life for everyone. Sometimes
clients are understandably confused by
this and think we are one big charity – we are not. You may have been asked for donations from Age UK. Please know that if you do give a gift to that charity, it will not come to us at Age UK Northamptonshire your donation or gift in your Will (such as
a legacy) does not get passed on to us here in Northamptonshire and will go to benefit a separate and national charity rather than the local one.
I hope that you will please support us
in Northamptonshire and so I stress the importance of contacting us directly via our own website and our own telephone number rather than Age UK or one of the other Age UKs. The contact details if you wish to support us – your local charity – are as follows.
Telephone (main reception): 01604 611200 and website www.ageuknorthants.org.uk
Thank you again for all your support.

Chief Executive
