have liked, probably as a result of the Polish Tank Battalion going through their equivalent validation to our Canada nal exercise. That said, the Poles have a great sense of humour, as well as a shared fascination with the weather, that led to many friendships being created at all levels. We formalised this through a Bond of Friendship with the 1st Polish Tank Battalion.
In amongst plenty of time on armour there have been some nota- ble successes on the sporting front with 28 qualifying for Army level representation and above in 20 different sports (everything from rugby to water polo). The football squad recorded their best results in a season since 2007; the basketball team nished runners up in 2014 and became Army champions in 2015; we retained the
inter-Regimental Polo cup for the second year running. Captain Henry Foster won the Barry Trophy for the most promising skip- per in the Army. At the time of writing Captain Joe Williamson became the fastest man on skis in the Armed Forces, winning the Combined Services Downhill; in the process he quali ed to com- pete at the British national competition in March 2015.
The King’s Royal Hussars continues to be at readiness until April 2015, with C Squadron remaining so until January 2016. 2015 promises to be a superb year for the Regiment. Not only will we commemorate Waterloo 200 and the 70th anniversary of Medicina, we will also mark the occasion of our Tercentenary.
