Redhead Rescues Animal Scanctuary
Redhead Rescues Animal Sanctuary was formed in 2020 by Teresa Underwood. After helping animals as a hobby for several years, Teresa decided to follow her dreams
and establish a rescue.
Based in Woodford near Thrapston, the rescue has horses, donkeys, goats, pigs, and cockerels. The rescue also rehomes dogs and cats, who are all cared for in local foster homes.
Teresa states “Our main aim is to treat each animal and each applicant as individuals. Matching the right animal with the right home is what we do best. We are always in need of local foster homes for cats and dogs. Everything is provided and we support our fosterers every step of the way.”
Our animals are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, with an fleas and worms removed before going to their new homes.
We also do any other veterinary work that the animals require, ranging from dentals to eye surgery.
Due to the number of French bulldogs, we take in, BOAS surgery is one of our most common procedures. This enables
brachycephalic dogs to breathe better by widening their nostrils and shortening the soft
pallet.

We are in a crisis. Sadly, there are more animals than there are homes. We are busier than ever before. It is incredibly important for people to support rescues rather than breeders.
Being completely self-funded, we rely on a small group of volunteers who raise money in a variety of ways. We also take volunteers to help with the care of the field animals.
