26 The Gazette QARANC Association
run out of prosecco (yes, you did read that correctly!), it was washed down with other fruity libations amid lots of the lively chatter that us QARANC people are so good at when we get together with old friends and acquaintances!
We were particularly honoured to have an extra guest at our table – Liz Keenan from the Midlands branch had bought along a knitted Queen
Elizabeth the Second – fetchingly attired in a matching yellow hat and dress and sat in the middle of the table for us all to see and admire – you were most welcome, Your Majesty!
Inevitably, the proceedings had to come to an end. After another successful and very well attended lunch, everybody departed and went their separate ways. Well, perhaps not quite – some of us did make our way
back into the city centre afterwards, to make the most of the weekend and to enjoy what the city of Cardiff had to offer but that is another story!
Our thanks to Sue McAteer and the crew from Association HQ, along with those members from the Welsh branch who between them made this weekend possible.
