  A day of recognition and celebration for the QARANC
QARANC personnel gathered at the National Memorial Arboretum in June to mark the 75th anniversary of the Association and other key milestones.
The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire is home to over 400 memorials spread over 150 acres. It is a place of remembrance, and honour for serving, served, and fallen soldiers. On 10 June, the site was visited for a very significant day for Army Nursing.
It was a day of recognition and celebration for QARANC personnel, reminding us of how far the nursing service in the Army has evolved to remain a significant deployable asset, and to remember those who came,
and fell before us. It was also a day of anniversaries; the 30th for the transfer of male nurses into QARANC from the RAMC and the transition of Ward Stewardesses into Healthcare assistants. Another notable anniversary is 50 years of Ward Stewardesses in the QARANC and 75 years of the QARANC Association.
The day was headed by CNO(A) Col Alison Farmer, and co-ordinated by Maj Andy Heney, of Joint Hospital Group North. The morning focussed on Continuing Professional Development, headed by Lt Col (Retd) Keiron Spires, Lt Col Alison Cripps, and WO2 Hayley Bowman. The study brought upon a
sense of pride, and belonging for our Cap Badge, allowing us to recall our Corps History and Heritage, and those who forged the way to make what QARANC is today.
Also discussed, was new medical innovations that transform the capabilities we can deliver in an operational, and domestic theatre, preparing future QARANC practitioners to deliver world class healthcare, no matter the setting.
