Local NHS Charity pays tribute to Captain Sir Tom Moore
At the beginning of February, the UK mourned the loss of Captain Sir Tom Moore, who raised £32.8m for NHS Charities Together by walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday – breaking the Guinness World Record for an individual’s charity walk and inspiring a nation. Northamptonshire Health Charity received £412,600 in grant funding enabling the charity to fund a wide range of initiatives and projects, both large and small. Supporting local NHS staff wellbeing with projects from a dedicated relaxation space and a reflection garden, to wellbeing bags for teams during training and debrief sessions.
Many projects also seek to enhance patient care and experience at Northampton General Hospital and at the community
and mental health hospitals across Northamptonshire. From toiletries and nightwear for patients, tablets for virtual visiting calls and rehab kits for ITU patients; to sensory, gym equipment and gardening and DIY resources for mental health patients at Berrywood and St Mary’s hospitals; weighted blankets and protac sensit chairs for CAMHS inpatients – all this and so much more is thanks to Captain
Goody bags for Nye Bevan staff at NGH were very well-received.
Sir Tom Moore. What a phenomenal legacy he leaves behind. Find out more about your local NHS charity at www. northamptonshirehealthcharity.co.uk
    THRAPSTON COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE
We are very blessed to have had some amazing Garage Sales over the last 8 years. We know people have travelled from as far as Cambridge, Peterborough, Coventry and Kings Lynn in the past.
We have raised a lot of money for different charities and local groups.
We have reviewed the current situation (11.2.21) as regards the pandemic and feel death numbers are still very high.
We know other towns have done
them but it puts a lot of responsibility for ensuring safety onto the garage stall holder. Our part, doing maps etc is quite safe.

Our first priority is to keep Thrapston community safe. Therefore, our April Garage sale WILL NOT go ahead.
We will continue to monitor the situation, and when we feel it is safe, we will arrange another one, hopefully later this year.
We will always be guided by the Government and seek advice from our Town Council.
We hope you understand and respect our decision. God bless and stay safe. Lindsey and Cindy
