Help us raise £2,000 for Thrapston Foodbank’s new store room
Thrapston Food Bank first opened in September 2020 and is continuing to support individuals and families in need from Thrapston and the surrounding areas. Our client list is ever increasing due to many reasons but is certainly most exaggerated by the current pandemic we find ourselves in.
Whilst we are incredibly lucky to have the use of Thrapston Baptist Church we are now looking to invest in a new space for
us to use once the church opens up to its congregation again. The church has been very generous in letting us take over the ground floor, and we would not be up and running if not for them.
But we need to prepare for the future. We expect the need to continue, particularly once the Furlough scheme ends and many jobs hang in the balance. When lockdown
is eased, the church is happy for us to continue to use the church to meet with clients on a Tuesday, but we need to release the space we currently use back to them
for church use. So we will need a place of our own where we can store the goods and make up the food parcels. It’s early days yet, but we’re investigating the possibility
of using the Church Garden to locate something like a Portacabin which would allow us to do this.
We do have some funds that the community has donated over the last six
months, that we will be putting towards the project, but it won’t be enough, so we are asking for you in the local community to donate anything you can to help us reach our target. Your support is truly appreciated and will go towards helping so many other people.
We have a Just Giving link on our Facebook page (www.facebook. com/ThrapstonFoodBank) or email: Thrapstonfoodbank@gmail.com for information on how to donate on-line or by cheque or cash.
