 Long serving Trustees retire
Our thanks go to two of our long serving and hard working Association members as they retire from the Board of Trustees. Moira Dixson has done invaluable work on the benevolence side of the Association, whilst Phillip Saunders was a stalwart member of the Board, always willing to give his time to assist the General Secretary at reunions and other functions.
The Chair of the Board, Colonel (Retd) John Quinn presented Moira and Phillip with framed prints of the Cardiff (Mametz) painting that hangs in the main hall of Robertson House.

Lieutenant Colonel Pat Gibson has finally retired from military life following her departure from the UOTC Medical Cell at RMA Sandhurst. Pat’s impressive collection of medals is evidence of her long military career and variety of postings and deployments.
I remember particularly her success with the Ethnic Minority Recruiting Team in the early 2000s for which she was invested with an MBE. She and her colleagues came in uniform to talk to my university department (on a diversity study day!) about the Army.
A minority of the staff present took great exception to the presence of military personnel on campus, and Pat handled the situation with great tact and diplomacy. This was the start of a friendship between us that has endured down the years.
Her colleagues at the med cell invited me along to her farewell party where Pat was presented with a parting gift by the Chief of Staff Colonel Dan Rawlins.
Her contribution to the department’s work of processing over 2000 medicals per year was gratefully acknowledged by all who were there.
We wish Pat well for whatever her future holds for her.
