he role of RAPTC Rugby Football Club (RFC) secretary falls
to one of the players and requires a juggling act keeping the
secretary responsibilities and playing all together. I am the
irst non player to conduct these duties due to a few knocks on
the head over a number of seasons.
I took over the reigns of responsibility at the end of the Rugby
League (RL) 2012 season from S/Sgt (SSI) H Harrington who at
the time was conducting PDT with his unit in preparation for OP
HERRICK 18. Many thanks for the smooth HO/TO good luck whilst
you’re away and come back safe and sound (we need the players).
RAPTC RFC is in a healthy state with approximately 40 playing
members on its books with an average of 18 players playing
each ixture. We are always actively recruiting and contacting new
members of the RAPTC as they pass into the Corps. However, SSgt Serial Hughes with his Cap from this years RAF match

ince last years Inter Corps Golf Competition, Sgt Murray
has handed over the Corps Secretary job to SSgt Browring
and with it an opportunity to rejuvenate the Corps golf
scene. Future events for the diary are matches versus the RAMC,
Petersield, Winchester and the RAPTC Association. The Corps
championships moves location to Pine Ridge GC for the 1st time
and the Corps will travel to the birthplace of golf and tour Scotland
playing Carnoustie and St Andrews in June.
The main effort will then be at Saunton Sands in North Devon for the
Inter Corps in July before heading to Wales for the combined NW
and RAPTC Association championships at Henlle GC in September.
With good preparation and an inlux of new Corps Golfers this year
hopefully we can add some silver wear to the hard work and effort RAPTC Golf Team – Inter Corps 2012 (Saunton Sands, N Devon)
put in by all involved.
