COMMUNITY ORCHARD
On Friday 27th January the community orchard on Huntingdon Road started to take shape with a number of additional fruit trees being planted.
The Council were keen to restore the area for the community to enjoy. 10 local and rare varieties of fruit trees were planted. After consultations with experts in the field, the Facilities team have sourced suitable trees
from The Heritage Fruit Tree Company. These included seven apple trees, one pear tree, one green gage tree and one damson tree.
Below is a picture of the area showing
the approximate location of all the trees. We really hope this is a fantastic space for the community to enjoy for many years to come, where you will be welcome to head down and pick your own fruit.
