NORTH REGION
NEW REGIONAL
WARRANT OFFICER
Warrant Officer Adrian (Ady) Burbridge has recently been appointed Regional Warrant Officer for North Region RAF Air Cadets.
Ady has become one of 6 Region Warrant Officers (RWO) within the RAFAC and alongside the new Warrant Officer (RAFAC) a Senior Command WO for the organisation.
Ady’s Air Cadet career started as a Cadet at 2460 (Pontefract) Squadron and after becoming an adult instructor he moved to various units around South
& West Yorkshire Wing, becoming a Warrant Officer (WO(RAFAC)) in April 2000 and then onto becoming Wing WO for South & West Yorkshire Wing in January 2015.
His proudest moment within the organisation so far was as becoming a key planning member and Parade WO for the RAFAC75 Parade, where 1000 Cadets and Staff marched through the centre of Doncaster to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the formation of the Air Cadets in 2016.
Upon his predecessor WO Kevin Piccavey stepping down as RWO, Ady applied for the role and was interviewed by both Regional Commandant (North), Group Captain Mark Leeming & Senior
Staff Officer, Wing Commander Dave Harris. Setting out his strategy and views for the tenure of his term, he was successful and took Post on the 1st of February this year.
Amongst his many tasks, Ady looks forward to develop communica- tions and best working practices for Staff and Cadet development across North Region both within ATC and CCF.
He also wishes to develop a better under- standing and closer links to his counterparts in the ACF & SCC.
