D COMPANY'S DETERMINATION ON DISPLAY!
by SI Ry Doran
While many may have been hiding away from the inclement weather that particular weekend in the middle of February, D Company's members were enjoying a multi-level training weekend at the Cadet Training Centre (CTC) in Strensall.
It rained, the wind blew and, on Saturday afternoon, it even snowed – but nothing could dampen their drive and spirit.
There were activities for cadets at Basic and 1 Star levels, including Navigation and Shooting. For some cadets, given the Covid-19 restrictions, this was the first opportunity they had to take part in the shooting activity, and they really enjoyed it!
For one of the Adult Volunteers, there was an additional reason for celebration - D Company's Company Sergeant Major (CSM) John Bateman received his Royal Warrant certificate from the Commandant, Colonel Fred Owen.
