Double bill performance
TPO is pleased to announce an exciting double-bill performance year ahead.
On 26th November in St James Church Thrapston at 4pm, there will be a concert performance – semi-staged - of the ever popular ‘Hansel and Gretel’. This enchanting tale, set to music by Humperdinck, has many well known melodies including “Brother dance a step with me” and “When at night I go to sleep”. The Wicked Witch wants to turn the children into delicious gingerbread men to gobble up later. Will she get her way or will the children escape her magic clutches? No spoilers here – come and see for yourself!
We are hoping to recruit 14 children to be the angels who guard Hansel and Gretel during the night. Children aged 8 and over are welcome

L’Elisir d’Amore

Thursday 22nd February @ 7.00pm
in The Thrapston Plaza, there will be fully staged performances of Donizetti’s ‘L’Elisir d’Amore’ – The Love Potion. This fast moving musical farce, sung in English with orchestral accompaniment, will have you laughing throughout the evening as well as being beguiled by the enchanting melodic flourishes of our principal characters.
Besides supporting us by attending the performances, why not come and join us in rehearsal, if not as a full performing member, perhaps just to see how ordinary folk from Thrapston and surrounding towns and villages manage to stage ‘Grand Opera’!
Regular Tuesday evening Chorus Rehearsals begin on 12th September at 7.30pm in St James Church Hall when all newcomers will be most welcome.
