2487 (EASINGWOLD) SQUADRON
Cadets, volunteer staff, Civilian Committee members, and invited guests recently joined together at a local venue in Easingwold to acknowledge a successful approach to training during many months of lockdown.
The “blended learning” approach developed and implemented by squadron staff proved to be a hit with all concerned - Wing Commander Aaron Waters, OC Wing, paid tribute to the dedication of staff and the cadets throughout the recent challenging times.
Flight Lieutenant Carl Alsop, OC 2487 Squadron, also thanked the cadets and his colleagues for their hard work. During the event, a number of cadets received awards and promotions for their achievements over the past two years.
A plaque was presented to Councillor Peter Nottage, the Mayor and Leader of Easingwold Town Council, celebrating the strong and ongoing links between the Squadron and the wider Easingwold Community.
A presentation was also made to Civilian Instructor Tony Harteveld in recognition of his many years of service to the squadron.

and the cadets are pictured with Dan after receiving their certificates.
In addition a promotion to Cadet Sergeant was made to Corporal Bradley.
The Squadron Commander, Flying Officer Nigel Price, said, “I have been very impressed with the gain in confidence and commitment to the other cadets, staff and Squadron
which Sergeant Bradley has made since his promotion to Corporal in July 2021.
SGT Bradley added, "I wasn't expecting this to happen so soon but I am overjoyed and I am looking forward to continuing to help the squadron out with more activities and being a good role model to the cadets and Junior NCOs."
