CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
We offer a warm welcome to our two new Councillors Michele Storey and Stuart Glover who were both co-opted onto the Council at the August Full Town Council meeting.
Thank you to everyone who
joined me on Friday 12th August
for my Teddy Bear’s Picnic in the
Peace Park. It was wonderful to
see so many families enjoying
the lovely weather and a brilliant £93 was raised for The Haemophilia Society UK. A big thank you also to Freedom Leisure for providing fantastic games and activities for the children and it was also great fun to have ‘Jim Trainer’ from the Nene Centre get involved.
Throughout the month of August, a Community Speed Watch programme
took place across Thrapston. This resulted in more than 200 drivers being recorded driving over the speed limit of 30mph. You can read more about this overleaf.
On Saturday 29th October, Thrapston Town Band will be performing ‘An Evening of Music’, raising money for my chosen charity. The evening of live music will be held in the Plaza, starting at
7pm. Tickets are priced at £6 per person and are available from the Town Council office. We would love for you to join us for what promises to be a great evening and there will be refreshments and a bar available on the night. I hope to see you there.
Kind regards,
Councillor Craig Wheeler Thrapston Chairman and Mayor
