An increase in sales of groundcover from our two allotment shed shops has resulted. The two shops, manned by volunteers, have become increasingly popular as a source of basic materials, but also as a contact point for exchange of ideas, techniques, and of course, just a good old chin wag – all helped by hot drinks being available.
COMMUNITY PLOTS
Another recent development has been the creation of a community plot on each of our two sites; Pound Lane
site has a large timber garden room, otherwise known as The Palace and Hamilton Lane a recreation area. These two plots are for any plotholder to use
for relaxing, barbeques, family dos, or official allotment social events. Each has a BBQ, tables and chairs. The plots are funded from our Club account, which gains a small income from shop sales, Kings Seeds autumn order bonus, and membership subs. Our large and diverse allotment association works well in managing and providing allotments to the Exmouth town,
on behalf of a very supportive Town Council.
