    NVS Directory
For your information, the NVS Autumn Directory was published and posted on the website. This will probably be the last one in this format as we transition to the new Directory which is available via the new website.
The new Directory is live and is fully linked as part of the Membership Engagement software, so will always be up to date as opposed to being published on a quarterly basis.
The new website provides a search engine and filters and drop-down lists to search within the following groups;
Judges, Lecturers, District Association (D.A.) Officers, Branch Officers or National Officers
For example; if you wanted to find any Lecturers from Yorkshire, you can filter on just that.
I hope you find the new system quick and easy to use.
 Mimi Tomato competition
The NVS is delighted to announce
that Marshall’s Seeds have offered
to provide every NVS member with
a packet of a Yellow Small Fruited Tomato, variety; Mimi. Mimi is an F1 Hybrid. Most of our members were lucky to have received a packet of these last year too.
Mimi is an eye-catching cordon tomato variety (so, it’s a variety for pinching out to maintain a single stem, not a bush variety). The yellow Mimi seeds develop into a strong, disease-tolerant plants,
full and flavoursome and with a heavy crop of sweet and crunchy fruits. They bring wonderful colour and are ready for summer-time picking from July through September after their indoor sowing from April, so don’t delay...get sowing! Tip; keep an eye on pinching out the side shoots plus once the first flowers have set, that’s the time to start feeding your plants. We hope that you will enjoy plenty of these small, sweet yellow tomatoes
later in the year as it’s a heavy cropper. Certainly feedback we have received was that these taste fantastic and are so sweet.
Each local NVS Branch will be planning to host a special competition, alongside their Branch Championships, to exhibit a dish of these small fruited Mimi Tomatoes, so why not have a go. More details, along with your seeds, to follow in the Spring SV Magazine edition in April.
