Me and my plot
I thought I would write to give you an update on what I have achieved on my plot in Bishopstoke.
First, I have enclosed a photograph of my garlic, which I successfully grow every year.
I also have in some cauliflower plants that I hope will have some good heads on. The stalks on these are rather long, but the heads have not produced yet. In all my years of growing on the allotment (which is about ten years or more) I have achieved about nine good-sized heads. The stalks were not very long; for my next
row of cauliflower plants,
someone on the plot
said to put some manure
down first, then plant on
that and firm in well.
Tip: I found that the best way to deal with getting good soil on the plot is to dig it over first and get rid of the weeds. Then, put your tiller over that so you don’t get any weeds in the blade; so make sure you get rid of those weeds first.
