  Apology to Andrew House,
Maesycoed Allotments
Our sincerest apologies to Andrew House and the team at Maesycoed Allotments for not including an image of the finished result in their Shed Refurbishment article in ALG2. Here it is waiting for customers!
 Help is at hand
Covid-19 has disrupted the daily lives
of just about everyone and everything. Things we took for granted like a simple trip to the garden centre or DIY store for a browse around simply ceased. Basic foods became scarce, and for the first time in my lifetime, supermarkets had run out of eggs.
Tredomen Allotment Association put out a leaflet to the local residents offering up its supplies of compost, growbags, seeds and plants to the community, their friends and family. The community responded and were extremely grateful to be able to access supplies and even obtain deliveries in small quantities of materials that would enable them to
continue in their hobby of gardening.
“The weather has been favourable,
and it was great to be able to help out where we could,” says Chris (allotment Secretary), “and I have received lots of positive comments from the people who did not even know we existed.”
Plans are to continue engaging with our local residents and build community spirit. You never know, we may get a few wanting to put their name down for a plot or two.
