                                   Thrapston Farmers Market
Thrapston Farmers Market is held on the first Saturday of each month, 9am to 1pm on High Street.
Thrapston Farmers Market is a friendly, well- stocked market which offers lots of fresh
food and drink from staple ingredients like fruit, vegetables, local honey and meat
to artisan breads and speciality breads and cakes – and more! Depending on the season you will also find plants and potted herbs, cheese and even Christmas trees.
The majority of stallholders grow,
make or rear what they sell themselves,
and are based within a 30-mile radius
of Thrapston. Exception is given to
our produce stall Whitehead Farm,
which comes from Wisbech, with its harvest of Cambridgeshire-grown fruit and vegetables grown in the famously productive fen-land region.
Several of the stallholders are Thrapston-based, including Nature’s Fayre honey and preserves
which has bee hives around the town and nearby villages. We have around 20 stalls depending on the season, all line up along High Street which enables shoppers to also enjoy the diverse selection of independent shops the town has to
offer.
The market is unique in the region in
being run solely by volunteers. A team
of locals launched the market in 2014 with the aim to support local farmers and producers, champion shopping local and to put Thrapston High Street on the map.
The market donates its profits to Thrapston causes. Since the beginning, the market committee has donated over £11,000 to local groups and charities including Thrapston Library, Thrapston Bowls Club, St James’ Church toddler
group and Thrapston Scouts amongst others. The market continues to be a popular fixture in
the town calendar and is a great way to experience the strong sense of community in the town.
