                                  WELCOME From Thrapston Town Council
It is with pride, hope and optimism that we have compiled this Thrapston Town Guide. We’ve put together information on what our wonderful market town has to offer, in the hope that those moving here can find out more about Thrapston and that those who already live here might discover something new.
We must of course start with a disclaimer. We cross our fingers that all of the groups, services, businesses and halls for hire listed in this guide
are fully up and running by the time you read the publication but 2020 has taught us that there are no guarantees. For this reason we have not included specifics and have instead provided contact information so that interested residents can get the most up-to-date details direct from the source.
With regard to Town Council events we sadly (but necessarily) had to cancel almost the entire 2020 calendar due to government restrictions. We hope that we can safely get together in the coming year. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter
to stay informed about the events and other Town Council and Thrapston news.
We hope that residents have managed to weather the storms that 2020 brought and that the coming year brings fresh beginnings with a return to something resembling ‘normality.’ We have been filled with pride seeing Thrapston residents step up and support their community. The local ‘Sharing Kindness’ Facebook page went into overdrive, enabling families in need to access items kindly donated by others and ensuring residents had access to basic food items such as flour and eggs.
2020 also saw the launch of Thrapston Foodbank, and a holiday lunches scheme to ensure that no child went hungry over the summer holidays. Many acts of kindness, small and large, add up to create our fantastic, strong and resilient community. As we step into 2021 we encourage residents to ask themselves how they can help to keep Thrapston a great place to live.
Thank you to Thrapston Heritage for providing historical information for this guide.
