 QARANC Awards and Prizes 2019
QARANC RHQ requests nominations for awards in October and November each year, for award the next year. The following personnel are congratulated on their 2019 Awards, which were presented by Her Royal Highness the Countess of Wessex at the CNO(A) Symposium and Jason Fox, author of Battle Scars, at the Mental Health Symposium.
The Leith McGregor Cup is awarded to the student Healthcare Assistant who has excelled in all physical and academic tests and demonstrated exceptional values and standards of the British Army. The cup is presented at the Passing-Out Parade on completion of Phase 2 training at Defence Medical Services (Whittington). The 2019 Cup goes to Lance Corporal Angela Morey, DMRC Stanford Hall.
The Best Health Care Assistant prize is awarded annually to the Healthcare Assistant who has shown exceptional commitment to professional development of themselves and others to improve patient care in the Firm Base (FB) or operational environment. The 2019 prize is awarded to Sergeant Leanne Keeley, JHG(S).
The Best Student Nurse prize is awarded to the Student Nurse in their final academic year who has consistently achieved excellence in academic and clinical placement reports and demonstrated exceptional values and standards of the British Army. The 2019 prize is awarded to

The Best Student Officer is considered to have improved and excelled in all aspects of the Entry Officers Course (EOC) and who demonstrates the core values of the British Army. The 2019 prize is awarded to Second Lieutenant Gen
Elliott, JHG(S).
The Burroughs Cup is awarded to
the QARANC Registered Nurse (Mental Health) who has contributed most in the field of mental health nursing to enhance patient care. The 2019 Cup is awarded to Warrant Officer 2 Cheryl
Abram, DCMH Leeming.
The Ambrosioni Trophy is awarded in
memory of Staff Sergeant Ambrosioni, to the Mental Health Nurse who has excelled in the sporting arena. The 2019 Trophy is awarded to Corporal Hodgkinson, DCMH Leeming.
The Glover Prize is awarded to the Reserve Registered Nurse or Healthcare Assistant who, in the opinion of the Senior Nursing Officer, has advanced military nursing during their service as a Nurse or Healthcare Assistant. The 2019 prize is awarded to Major Rozalind McMeeking.
The Talbot-New Cup is awarded annually to a Regular member of the QARANC who has demonstrated nursing leadership to facilitate change within the AMS/DMS through a culture of innovation in the workplace to advance military nursing practice, improve patient safety and patient experience. The 2019 Cup is awarded to Major Chantel Wheelan, ARITC.
The Chief Nursing Officer (Army) Medal is awarded annually to the QARANC Registered Nurse who has made an outstanding contribution to Army Nursing through innovations during exercises, operations or in academia. The 2019 medal is awarded to Major Peter Royal, 5 Medical Regiment.
