Greeting from us all in the North! We started 2019 with our usual Bring and Buy sale alongside our January meeting (a great way of some post- Christmas decluttering!). March saw a trial move to our local RBL Branch for our meetings and we have continued to hold them there as it has improved access for many of our members. Anyone who would like to join us is most welcome and I include the address for your information.

March saw us out for our usual getogether for QA Corps Day. Once again a super time enjoyed by all who were able to make the event, with lots of great stories and memories shared. Jacqui Hall, Catherine Waller and I were fortunate to attend the wonderful two day event commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Corps. A marvellous and memorable time held at Litchfield and the National Memorial Arboretum.
June 29th saw a group attending a fascinating walk and talk by Ann Clouston around South Shields. Even those who thought they knew the area were surprised by the local knowledge she gave us. The weather was very good to us too. We finished it with local fish and chips in her home and our profound thanks go to her for her
continued support and willingness to offer these events.
In July the first North East Military Ball was held at the Hilton Hotel in Gateshead. This event was organised by members of 201 Field Hospital and profits went to a variety of charities. We, along with our local RAMC Association branch, took two tables of 10, and used it as our summer event. It was a glamorous evening and with its success, there were 270 guests, they have already booked for next year.
