  Eileen Willard (Retired Sergeant)
Eileen Willard joined the QAs around 1980 as a qualified Enrolled Nurse. She enjoyed a variety of postings during her 22 years service and rose to the rank of sergeant. Her favourite posting was Hong Kong and she always talked with great affection of her colleagues and the good times that were enjoyed by all.
Eileen completed her 22 years of service as a Registered Nurse and went to work as a civilian in the Medical Centre at The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. She thoroughly enjoyed her time at Sandhurst and saw Princes William and Harry start and complete their officer training. During her time at Sandhurst, Eileen decided to further her career by successfully completing a degree course in nursing and becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Eileen then spent the rest of her nursing career as a Nurse Practitioner in a busy GP surgery in Farnborough until her retirement.
For anyone who met Eileen, they would probably agree that she was ‘one of a kind’; she had lots of
funny little quirky ways but her most endearing quality was her huge heart of gold. If anyone had a problem, or was in distress, Eileen would always try to help in some way. She had a great sense of loyalty to those she called friend. All of these characteristics are what made Eileen.
Eileen had a great love for her dogs and was very active taking her dog for daily long walks. She loved her dogs with a passion. She retired to Herne Bay to enjoy long beach walks with her dog and would always talk about meeting new friends and enjoying her new life in retirement.
Sadly, nearly two years ago Eileen’s life changed dramatically when she became terminally ill with a disease she was unable to fight and ultimately claimed her life.
May Eileen now rest in peace. She will be greatly missed by her friends and relatives and also her four legged friends.
