CELEBRATE
Celebrating with our Jubilee-themed activities
One of the best things about attending one of our day centres is that there is always something fun and topical to enjoy.
In the middle of May, Derek who attends The William and Patricia Venton Centre, gamely agreed to raise the Union Jack on the building’s flag pole so that it was flying in time for the coming Jubilee celebrations. First up was the planting of our tree for the Queen’s Green Canopy, followed by the Platinum Jubilee parties and other activities.
In the week of the Jubilee bank holidays our day centre clients had a whale of a time, taking part in Platinum Jubilee-themed activities and being able to feel part of
the royal celebrations. At our day centre
in Rockingham Road in Kettering manager Mark Morgan and his team organised arts and crafts activities with a royal theme. Les and Nev are seen here decorating plates. The day centre was decked with Union Jack flags and bunting and a scrumptious cream tea was added to the usual delicious lunch.
Everyone was thrilled by the amazing Jubilee cake, kindly baked and brought along by Fred’s wife Jill.
Doreen and Carol spent the day painting plates together.
At The William and Patricia Venton
Centre in Northampton names were drawn out of a hat to choose someone to be “Queen of the Day”. On Wednesday 1st June it was Shirley’s turn to be royalty and she gracefully agreed to wear the sparkly tiara and record a short message “for her subjects”.
