Food, fun and fellowship at Beaumaris Allotments
Plotholders and guests recently got together for the annual AllotFest in Beaumaris, when everyone had the chance to taste the wonderful selection of pickles, chutneys and jams produced by plotholders. In addition there was a superb choice of cakes and desserts, again made using produce from the allotments.
Everyone had the chance to catch
up and discuss their plans for the forthcoming season. New plotholders and those on the waiting list got
the opportunity to meet their fellow allotment gardeners so that they will have ready-made friends when they start work on their new plots.
The Society was particularly delighted to welcome so many members of Beaumaris Town Council including the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Allotments Sub-committee, and thanked them for their support.
As always, the evening was very well supported and the delicious spread
was enjoyed by everyone. A raffle and a ‘Guess the number of beans in a jar’ competition raised funds for the next event in the Beaumaris Allotments Society social calendar.
The suspense of drawing the raffle!
