A SPORT FILLED WEEKEND

The first weekend in July the county had a very sporty weekend with two big events. On the Saturday the county sent teams to the Regional Rugby competition, and on Sunday entered a team into the Brims Cup Mixed Relay Triathlon.
The Rugby was the Regional selection event with cadets from across the region. Our cadets performed really well and a large number of those attending have been selected to represent the Brigade at the nationals.
The Brims Cup is a mixed relay triathlon competition; pitting cadets and adults from across the north against each other in a super sprint triathlon relay. For the mixed relay event an equal mix of male and
female competitors is
required. To compete
for the Brims cup the
team also has to have
an adult, and a cadet
between 15 and 16
years old. The prizes
were awarded by Dame
Tanni Grey-Thompson.
We entered a
mixed team to build experience within
the county. The team worked hard and made a great effort but did not manage to win any prizes; However, they enjoyed the day and will be back next year.
