   4 RANGER
     OPS CYCLE
 OVERVIEW
After an arduous six-month training cycle in the UK, B Coy once again took over
the 4 RANGER operational commitment
in Oct 2024. In the aftermath of the Oct
7th attacks by Hamas on Israel, B Coy deployed to a region in crisis. In Jordan, the Coy set about supporting the JFHQ and FCDO regional lines of effort. Meanwhile
in Lebanon, the team formed the Joint Advance Force alongside the Pathfinders and elements of the Commando Force to lead in preparation and planning for the potential evacuation of non-combatants. Both elements were heavily relied upon and praised by military and governmental agencies alike for their conduct during the crisis, proving the value a forward deployed Ranger regional presence
can have – using carefully established networks and relationships across allies and partners alike to provide unique insight and access.
As Christmas approached it wasn’t long before the teams were able to look to their partner force facing roles once again and resume more routine activity. In Jordan the team redesigned large elements of their partner force’s training programme, as well as expanding the platform’s reach into several new locations and branches within the Jordanian Armed Forces, focussing
on northern border security. In Lebanon,
the team also expanded the network and platform outputs, as well as setting TTPs for how to operate in new, less permissive, environment in Lebanon. In addition, both platforms worked hard to in load the kit and
equipment to ensure they were set to respond to any crisis, ably supported by the QMs’ dept and BHQ throughout.
Alongside their hard work, both teams were able to make time to explore the countries they were based in. In Lebanon much-needed home improvements to the “meeting space” on the roof of their compound occupied more time than anyone would care to admit. In Jordan, the team prioritised ‘completing’ the Lonely Planet guide, including following the OC down a leg of the Jordan Trail
from Dana to Petra. It’s fair to say there were mixed levels of enthusiasm for the trek, but it certainly won’t be forgotten
by anyone anytime soon. Overall B Coy had an extremely successful Ops Cycle, performing well from the first day in challenging conditions, as well as making the most of their time in some incredible countries.
