4 RANGER
AT & SPORT UPDATE
Despite the extremely busy pace of life at 4 Ranger, time to participate in Adventurous Training and Sport continue to be embraced and supported across the Bn. This has led to many exciting opportunities for our people including some outstanding team and individual accolades.
Firstly, our football team played in various fixtures, including a prestigious 3-2 victory in a highly competitive game against 2 Ranger. Additionally, the Bn running team travelled
to Cyprus competing in the ‘Cyprus four-day challenge.’ This event saw the team compete against a host of civilian and military teams from across the globe, running distances between 5km and half marathon. On an Individual level, 4 Ranger personnel have continued to compete and excel at all levels
of service sport. Most notably, Sgt Mills receiving the MVP Team Jersey for Royal Signals Ice Hockey, WO2 Magar organising and participating in the first Infantry Squash overseas visit since 1993 held in Nepal, and SSgt Mullen who captained the Army Women’s Rugby team to a 78-5 thrashing of the RAF in front of a bumper Twickenham crowd during this year’s Inter Service competition.
On the Adventurous Training front, Capt Dean organised and executed a
walking expedition through Jordon.

Ex Nabataean Falcon saw members of B-Coy head on a four-day trek across the rugged Jordanian landscape before finishing at the spectacular UNESCO world heritage site in Petra. Meanwhile, LCpl Shire led an adaptive Ski expedition in the French alps highlighting the transformative power of Adaptive skiing as more than just an activity; it is a symbol of empowerment, resilience, and possibility.
