CAMBRIAN PATROL TRAINING
In May the 8 RIFLES Cambrian Patrol team kickstarted their training package on the Yorkshire Three Peaks with Ex SETTING
THE CONDITIONS building on the previous year’s success. The team covered 44 kilometres and 1,740 meters worth of ascent with various lessons conducted at CPs throughout the route.
The whole team put in a strong performance and formed a cohesive unit and atmosphere, with all the Riflemen displaying resilience in abundance. The climate conditions and kit carriage made it challenging, but the entire patrol worked well together and fundamentally come in as a complete C/S. It proved to be a demanding
Exercise which ensured the patrol has stepped off in good order and ultimately delivered the exercise name, SETTING THE CONDITIONS.
The next event is the Cambrian Patrol Build-Up Training Camp in September,
which will be a challenging 2-week camp
on Sennybridge Training Area in the form
of patrol/BL exercise. A final confirmation Exercise will include OUOTC, ULOTC, SUOTC and 6 RIFLES, ensuring we have a competitive challenge from the start.
