   CENTRAL
  SHREWSBURY BRANCH
The Shrewsbury Branch continues to thrive with 52 paid up members and holds monthly meetings and social events in the Copthorne Barracks Reserve Centre, hosted by E Coy 8 RIFLES. Our buglers, standard bearers and many members were on parade in March
for the funeral of Lt Col Ron Bevan, a Past President of the Branch.
At the LI Reunion in June, we ran a Tombola Stall and organised the annual Light Infantry Golf Day, won this year by the team from The Rifles. The Branch continues to play a full
part in regimental and civic events, and many thanks are due to our hard-working committee. Major (Retd) DR Crook MBE

HISTORIC MILITARY SKILLS BRIGADE WIN FOR ADAMS CCF
In a tight competition, against ten teams, Haberdashers’ Adams CCF (Army Section) won this year’s Military Skills Competition for the Brigade area - by one point! It has been some time since a CCF team has won the competition, with the honours usually going to ACF teams, so this is a real achievement. The team of ten was ably led by Cadet Warrant Officer Will Dally, an outgoing Senior Cadet in Year 13.
Over 150 veterans, wives and families met up
TELFORD BRANCH
Although we have lost some members in the last year, we have welcomed some new ones, and hope to continue to do so.
In March, 38 members spent a wonderful weekend visiting the South Shields and Sunderland Branches. Over 150 veterans, wives and families met up, having a fantastic time. We plan to visit Cornwall Branch next year
and we have both the Christmas Draw and the Annual Dinner to look forward to.
