How is it that Sapper Brown is now buried at Wayne’s Keep, when he died on 2 February 1879 and this
cemetery only opened in 1948? There are no other burials prior to this date. His grave is marked by a
modern Ministry of Defence headstone. Why did he come to Cyprus, how did he die, where was he
originally buried, and what is his story?
