WHAT’S ON
In and Around Thrapston
Spring is in the air at last! Our
March meeting was our Annual
Meeting, marking the end of one WI
year and the beginning of another.
2025/2026 has a full calendar, with
talks, exercise and craft activities
planned, alongside food and social events.
Our May meeting has had to move to another
date, due to the elections taking place. It will
now be held Thursday 8th May at 7.30pm at the
Baptist Church. The WI has a long history of
social and political campaigning. Every issue
that we campaign on stems directly from a
resolution put forward by members and adopted
at the Annual Meeting. WI members have a
unique opportunity to turn a concern into a
national campaign every year, backed by the
whole of the WI. In May, we will be discussing
this year’s shortlist of suggested Resolutions.
There will also be ‘pot-luck’ snacks
and, as always, time to catch up and
socialise with friends old and new.
Looking further ahead, our June
meeting – back to the usual 1st
Thursday of the month- features
Aboriginal Dot Painting.
June also brings the Charter Fair, where we
shall be providing refreshments in the Plaza. We
hope to be fully joining in with the spirit of the
occasion with 1940’s themed clothes and food.
Do come along and say hello.
