    Roulement Band at Sandhurst
The Band and Bugles of The Rifles were very privileged earlier this year to be selected to perform for the 182 commissioning course at The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS), The Sovereigns` Parade.
Early in March we made our way just up the M3 to the Academy to perform to a panel of senior staff members at the college. This performance is designed to allow the staff to select a programme of music that they feel will best suit the commissioning course later in the year. After a very successful performance, our programme was accepted fit for the parade, with a notable inclusion of the ‘Game of Thrones’ theme suggested by the Academy Sergeant Major!

During the first week at the Academy, there were a number of rehearsals with all three terms currently undergoing training. As is traditional, the band forms up the parade from the steps of Old College using a unique type of step drill. Luckily at this stage of the programme, the weather was still being very kind to us and the rehearsals were all very successful.
As a staple of a Roulement tour to the RMAS, there were a number of dinner nights throughout our two week stay. In the first week, the Corunna Brass Quintet performed for the Late Entry Officers` Commissioning Course Dinner and were very well received by all those at the dinner. Also at dinner nights, a Cabaret Marching Band performed in and around the tables as after dinner entertainment. A fun piece called `Post Horn or Gallop` or `The Huntsman` is usually performed and this really gets
