Club members have enjoyed meeting together again. However, one of our most interesting recent Zoom club meetings involved a member from Towcester Rotary Club, who was joined by a representative of the Northamptonshire Health Charity which the Towcester Club
is supporting. The charity, which merged
with the Kettering General Hospital Fund in April, is now the registered charity for both Northampton and Kettering General Hospitals and also the Northamptonshire Foundation Health Care Trust. More details about the charity and it’s work can be found at www.northamptonshirehealthcharity.co.uk
Our talk was primarily about the latest appeal by the charity, which is working to raise funds in order to build an outside play area for the children’s ward at Northampton General Hospital costing £130,000. Whilst, probably many people who need hospital treatment from our area go to Kettering, we thought it was a good scheme to publicise so that people who wanted to help could find out more. Further details can be found on the website.

another of the charity’s major appeals
that we have supported in the past, and
which continues to need further support. The ‘Twinkling Stars Appeal’ was set up to raise funds for a new Maternity Bereavement Suite
at Kettering General Hospital. Whilst the maternity ward at any hospital is generally one of the happiest places to be, unfortunately this is not always the case. More details of this project can be found on the charity website, but if you can help with making progress towards the target there is also a special money giving page: www.virginmoneygiving.com – just search for Twinkling Stars.
We will be continuing to raise funds to support the work of local, national and international charities and, when we are able to, provide practical support. We are always keen to hear from people who would like to know more about Rotary, who would like to support our work or become individual or corporate members. You can find out more by looking
