Always keeping busy Thrapston Rotary Club are still zooming...
Our local Rotary Club continues to meet in the new way via Zoom and, by the time this article is published, we will have had two speakers in August.
We will also continue to help our local food banks. However, our thoughts have now turned to the Autumn and the rest of the year.
September is the time of the year when we begin to plan the range of young people’s competitions, along with the charitable events that we organise. Thrapston Shoebox Appeal
Due to the current situation and the uncertainty with buildings opening up fully, we will not be doing our Shoebox Launch Day. We feel we could not do these safely as we have in the past. We will have OCC boxes for people to fill themselves and we will arrange collection in November.
These boxes will be available at the end August and will cost £5 to send.
We are doing 200 boxes in the next month to go to the Rotary Shoebox Appeal – these go to some of the same destinations and they collect all year.
We feel the need is now and we also hope to do some household boxes.
Many of you have sponsored these at £2 a box and we are extremely grateful.
If you wish to fill one of these, let us know and we can supply you with information.
We hope next year to return to our workshops, fun days and Shoebox Launch Day.

The aim is to encourage the development of environmental skills by getting young people to Interact with the environment, address serious environmental issues, develop and explore solutions to the issues, explore, investigate, research and undertake an environmentally sustainable project.
We will be sending details to local schools and youth groups, but you can register your interest in finding out more by contacting Terry Franklin telephone: 01933 625642.
