The Association investments have been performing well over the past couple of years but the current Coronavirus pandemic may have an adverse impact on the Association investments resulting in lower dividends. So, it is worth noting that a decision made by the Trustees in 2013 to move some funds from our investment portfolio into a high interest bank account as a safety net in the event of a market crash was a very wise move. As noted earlier in my notes, decisions made by the Trustees do have long-lasting implications.

Visits
Visitors to the RAPTC HQ and ASPT are always welcomed and again this year, we have welcomed a number to the School.
The family of the late ex SSgt (SSI) Steve (Budgie) Burgess (deceased) visited Fox Lines on Fri 9 Aug 19 to view his plaque and tree. Following Steve’s untimely and tragic death in 1989 a commemorative plaque was donated and a tree planted by the family outside the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess in the grounds of Hammersley Barracks. Prior to the demolition of Hammersley Barracks the tree and plaque was moved to Fox Lines.
Other Visitors to the School and museum were Lt Col D Martindale, Alfie Gurnett and family members of WO2 (QMSI) deceased John Pace to scatter some ashes in the Garden of Remembrance.
Members of Probationers course No 94 also visited a pass-off parade at the ASPT for a reunion organised by Maj (Retd) Chic Wilkinson (an article on their visit can be found in this edition of the MBS).
