RAPTC RFC Attendee’s
Social Evening, Golf & Reunion Dinner 2020
On Friday evening we were joined by serving and retired members of the RAPTC RFC, which swelled the numbers attending to 44 people. We commenced the evening with a curry buffet and social gathering before going upstairs to the cabaret room to enjoy the entertainment. On Saturday morning we held a golf tournament, which saw Brian Pyle and John McGonigle Snr vying to be the first to hold the trophy.
However, it was decided to call it a tie and they became joint holders in the first year!
The attendance on Saturday evening improved even further than Friday’s gathering with 68 people sitting down to dinner, which included 10 members of the current RAPTC RFC squad (The Apostles), a number of retired RFC club members and the staunch members of the NW Branch Association as well as the SMAA, Steve Collinson, his good lady wife, Jayne and the Regimental Secretary, Gary Jones. Entertainment was provided throughout the dinner with a table magician and background music provided by a local organist, who was back by popular demand by some of our Veteran members. On conclusion of a four course dinner, the SMAA addressed those present after which we conducted the toasts and concluded with Dot’s Ladies prize before concluding

with the traditional Blackpool Raffle before catching up with everyone and in some cases dancing the rest of the evening away. A very successful combined reunion weekend for young and old.
My sincere thanks to all those personnel who attended any of our functions and we look forward to welcoming you all, along with any newcomers to next year’s functions in order to enjoy the sights and sounds of Blackpool, Fleetwood and Lytham St Anne’s.
