Winter Sporting Success - The Alpine season kicked off with the Regimental alpine ski team training and then competing in the Royal Artillery Championships in Les Deux Alpes, France. The team enjoyed success across all categories; Capts Dorey and James winning individual races in the Senior, SSgt Ternent achieving top-three results in the Veteran category and Gunners Owen and Mitchell in the Novice category. Capt Dorey won the overall individual combination. The team then progressed onto the Divisional Championships at Ex PIPEDOWN, where they achieved a third-place result in the Team Giant Slalom race and won a trophy for the best Royal Artillery team at the championships. Crucially, they managed to qualify a regimental team to the Army Championships, to compete with the best 100 racers from across the Army. The team had some great individual results at the Army Championships and had racers represent the RA Corps team in every team event. This season was one of the most successful in recent years and has set an excellent foundation for next year!
The Nordic season began in Sjusjeon, Norway where, with other RA teams, preparation began, consisting of four weeks hard skiing and range work culminating in two races where 29 Cdo RA performed to a standard suggesting this year they may qualify for
