                                                                       THANK YOU
from the Rotary Club
The Rotary year is flying by and after an extremely busy Christmas period we are once again putting ‘pen to paper’ to thank you
all for the huge support you gave us for our Christmas Concert and our Santa’s Sleigh and an equally special thank you to those of you who visited Santa in his grotto, who was ably supported by Rotary elves.
Christmas is the busiest time of year
for Rotary as it provides us with the best opportunity to raise funds for the charities we have selected to support. With your help, we have once more raised a fantastic £3,000 to share amongst our chosen charities. This year we are supporting Medical Detection Dogs, who are based in Milton Keynes. The charity works tirelessly to improve early diagnosis
of debilitating illnesses such as Parkinson’s Disease. We are also supporting Headway East Northants who help adults with an acquired brain injury to develop and enrich their lives. Finally, and with a local theme, we are directing some of our fundraising to Oundle Town Football Club so that they can continue to offer football across a range of ages and abilities.
We are looking forward to our calendar of
activities for 2024. We hope to hold a stall at the Fletton Field Fete and continue to bring some order to the car parking frenzy that is the World Conker Championships, and you may see us popping up at other community events to lend a hand and raise a bit of cash for our charity pot.
As with all our features we like to take the opportunity to encourage any new Rotarians to join our group. Being a Rotarian is very much about playing to the strengths of individual members and quality testing local eateries and beverages along the way. So, if you think you might like to volunteer some spare time, and
if Rotary sounds like the organisation for you, we’d like to hear from you!
We meet every two weeks on a Tuesday evening from 7pm. To find out more drop us a line at oundlerotary@ gmail.com or have a look at: Facebook.com/oundleclub
