Volunteer Action – Group
Befriending Events
We are delighted to announce that we are looking to run regular meet up opportunities within the Community of East Northants North to help reduce rural isolation within people aged 65 years plus. We are looking for volunteers to help us and anyone to come and join us for a meet up.
Please keep an eye on our website (and in
the press) for more details – we will be coming to a café near you soon for a brainstorming event – to see how we can best help serve the community and the already existing social groups in providing more opportunities to meet up, socialise and hopefully make some lifelong friends.
If this sounds of interest to you – please do give our office a call on 01832 275433 to find our more details.

and chatter in
Cotterstock
Next event: Monday 6th November
November’s optional activity: Watch a video commemorating Armistice Day.
The pop-up café opens from 10 am to 12 noon once a month, and everyone will be very warmly welcomed. For the last 30 minutes there is something else to enjoy if you choose to stay too.
Everything you need for all the sessions will be supplied. This is a not-for-profit venture. £3 (cash only) is the charge
for any or all of: a drink, cake and the activity.
    Banking on a good
service at Oundle Library
When Barclays Bank closed its Oundle Branch earlier this year it left customers without
any local banking support, with the nearest locations now being either Peterborough (14 miles away) or Kettering (17 miles away). The branch was one of 103 that Barclays will close this year.
But Barclays does now offer a Customer Service drop-in at Oundle Library every week. An adviser is at the library on Monday and Friday, from 9am to 5pm (closed 12.30pm to 1.30pm). They won’t deal with cash of course, but they can help you with other banking matters.
You can pre-book an appointment online at www.barclays.co.uk/branch-finder/ or drop in to Oundle Library when the adviser is there.
Volunteer Action is a local charity supporting local residents who may be elderly, unwell, disadvantaged or have disabilities. By providing services to these valuable members of the community, our aim is to maintain independence and improve the quality of their lives. www.volunteeractionoundle.org.uk
    Thank you so much!
In the August edition of Oundle Life we featured Milly and Hatty Hunt’s ‘Hair- raising’ for Little Princess Trust.
They would like to thank everyone who supported them and donated money. The money they raised really will make such a huge difference to someone’s life.
