                                 TALES FROM THE
RIVERBANK – SUMMER 21
Summer is here and we are allowed out to play again! Somehow life now has a different perspective and the things we took for granted seem more important, like going for a sail or kayak from our fantastic club on the lovely river watching out for new wildlife, having a chat with a visitor who is perhaps experiencing the Beaulieu River for the first time and often agreeing how lucky we are.
Unfortunately, even looking through my rose-tinted spectacles the Dinghy Acquaint Evening and first of the Family Sailing Sessions were on, shall we say damp evenings but nevertheless a few braved the weather.
Our most recent was on the eve of the Round the Island Race, three boats went out for a little light weather drift in the warm evening sun.
New membersVictoria and Steve with their young son Alistair took the Wanderer out, it proved to be ideal conditions for Alistair’s first dinghy sail who, being a hardy
soul took his tea out with him so he could be home and fed in time for bed.
The following day coming back up the river after a great day out doing the Round the Island Race, we were greeted by four of the club dinghies out enjoying the breezy sunny evening, the youngsters among them honing their skills and ambitions for the future, who knows where that could lead...
