Finally, 2018 was, of course the centenary of the end of The First World War, a war which claimed the lives of almost a million British service per- sonnel including 3,427 Sandhurst-trained offic- ers. As part of the commemorations the charity There, But Not There placed clear Perspex fig- ures in churches across the land as a reminder of the sacrifice during that war. The Royal Military Chapel received a share of the figures, a poign- ant reminder to the congregation of what was once called ‘the war to end all wars.’

In conclusion, the best way to sum up The Sandhurst Trust in 2018 is to look at the figures:
We disbursed £105,370.
£41,000 in AT grants to 607 Officer Cadets.
The Abbot and volunteer guides at the tomb of The Prince Imperial
£12,500 in grants to other RMAS and UOTC Expeditions.
£21,000 in grants in support of other leadership activities.
£6,500 in grants for RMAS sports equipment.
£3,500 for 81 Sandhurst Medals presented to International Cadets.
£10,000 to the Officers’ Association for retired army officer welfare.
£10,500 in grants for welfare within RMAS.
The remainder was split between the myriad of activities The Trust supports.
We continue to support retired army officers in need through our partner charity, The Officers’ Association and this is an extract of a letter we received from a former Major in the Royal Signals: ‘I am writing to thank The Sandhurst Trust for the electric wheelchair which was delivered today. I cannot tell you how happy I was to receive this as it will give me a degree of freedom that I have not enjoyed for some time. Thank you once again, your generosity has literally changed my life.’
Remember, The Sandhurst Trust is the Army Officer Charity and Your charity. 100% of our membership donations are charitably disbursed. For more information see our website:
