The rest of the week was forecast storms and rain in the afternoon, something you don’t want to hear when you are clipped into several 100 meters of iron cable on a high mountain! Because of this we had several early starts to make the most of the settled weather in the morning. We tackled a variety of routes, starting off easy, as most of us had never done Via Ferrata before, gradually tackling more technical climbs. Most of the routes we did started off particularly steep and technical, with great exposure, definitely putting most of us in our stretch zone.
Ex FALZAREGO CADET was a fantastic week and has left all of us wanting to return to the Dolomites to continue to push ourselves on more challenging routes, and to eventually gain the qualification ourselves.
  Ex TATRAS CADET was an incredible experi- ence in the beautiful landscapes of the Tatras mountains, the natural boundary between
Slovakia and Poland. It gave the opportunity for six Officer Cadets to explore a lesser known part of Europe, and to gain valuable mountaineering experience over some tough terrain.
Starting off in a village in Zuberec, Slovakia, the team started their journey across the Western Tatras, traversing steep and heavily forested tracks before summiting peaks with some spec- tacular views.
