Exercise GERMANY ROCKS Multi-activity expedition in Bavaria, Germany

EX GERMANY ROCKS was an adventure training expedition set to conduct rock climbing and mountain biking within Bavaria,
Germany. The expedition was conducted over the period of the 11th–18th August 2018. There were nine members of the expedition, all of whom were Officer Cadets at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. The expedition had three instructors who had gained their qualifications through previous experience within the Army, or had achieved the qualification during the com- missioning course.

Thank you must be given to the Sandhurst Trust for their generous donation of £75 per person, coming to a total of £675. The expedition was able to be conducted and the donation by the Sandhurst Trust was put towards the accom- modation, Haus Am Brunnenbach, Sonthofen. This allowed all of the Officer Cadets to enjoy their expedition and gain a higher training ben- efit through being able to afford a more remote accommodation in the heart of Bavaria, some- thing which would not have been achievable otherwise.
The expedition allowed for continuation training to be conducted by the instructors involved, and more importantly introduced Officer Cadets to new sports and furthered their knowledge of the adventure training world that is on offer by the Army, and the processes that are involved in the planning, preparation and conducting phases.
