We have a brand new access roadway. As the before and after pictures testify, we went from crazy paving to amazing in just a couple of days – all thanks to Flannery and BAM, plant hire and building firms working on a local flood defence scheme here in Apperley Bridge. What was an amateur start, now has a professional finish.
All materials were very generously donated and recycled from the works they are carrying out. The roadway
is 100 metres long and this is a story of many tonnes of stone, four men, three machines, two days and one very happy allotment getting back on track.
We’ve spent the last couple of years raising this old, abandoned allotment like a phoenix from the shames of
