                                   Squad Three would be 6 through 8 to 10, then let him crack on. Let’s only say that the British are much more used to living in the field tactically...
We moved on to a fairly standard four-day defensive phase and once it was completed we moved onto more platoon and company night attacks to mitigate the heat of the day and the risk of climatic injuries.
We moved back into camp after 12 long, hot days, then it was the usual hand kit back, clean weapons and have a well earned cold beer.
On the Monday, I moved to Detroit for a bit of culture but kept getting asked if I was from Australia - you couldn’t meet a more typical Englishman....!
I look forward to my counterpart Sgt Jameson coming to Otterburn for 2 weeks in September on his exchange. I feel immensely grateful to have had the privilege and opportunity to represent the British Army and the Regiment and I will look back at this opportunity with great fondness.
